Tony Pearce
Our Hardworking Candidate for Caterham Valley
Tony Pearce has called Caterham home for 30 years. He and his wife Lorna, to whom he has been happily married for 29 years, chose this community for its perfect balance – quick links to London, surrounded by beautiful countryside, with vibrant shops, restaurants and pubs right on the doorstep. Their son attends a local secondary school and enjoys the activities at the new youth club.
Tony is a familiar face to many across the area. He currently works at a well-known local community and wellbeing centre, where he supports people from all walks of life. Before that, he played a vital role during the pandemic – first volunteering, then serving as a volunteer coordinator at the local vaccine centre, and later working for the NHS at several vaccination sites. These experiences gave Tony a deep understanding of the needs and concerns of our community, especially those who feel left behind.
Community involvement has always been at the heart of Tony’s life. He and Lorna were both active on the PTA at Marden Lodge, helping organise events like the much-loved fireworks display. He also worked with local residents to protect green belt woodland from being sold off, safeguarding it for future generations. You’ll often find him and his family enjoying local events such as the food and Christmas markets, or joining in the fun at the carnival.
As your councillor, Tony will campaign hard to ensure that Caterham and Whyteleafe remain great places to live. He believes in the right housing in the right places, protecting green spaces, and making sure the town centre thrives with a wider range of retail. Above all, Tony wants to make sure no one in our community is left behind, and that everyone has access to the support they need.
Tony Pearce has the passion, experience, and commitment to continue the hardworking Liberal Democrat tradition in Caterham and Whyteleafe.
