Ever since The Street in Caterham closed and Surrey County Council stopped funding open access youth work, there has been a desperate need for a youth club available to all young people in Caterham, Whyteleafe, and Chaldon. As a trustee of the newly-formed Caterham, Chaldon & Whyteleafe Youth CIO, County Councillor Jeffrey Grey has been working cross-party, and with the support of all our local Parish and Village Councils, to get a new youth club up and running locally. He tells us, “We have contributed our Surrey funds to the refurbishment of St John’s Church Hall in Caterham, which will be our first venue.”

Jeffrey continues, “We ran a successful pilot event in April and a successful full launch on Thursday, May 1st.” The new youth club is there for every young person, and they have secured the enthusiastic support of the YMCA as their professional service deliverer. They have been working hard to raise funds. For more information, contact Cllr Jeffrey Grey.

The address is: St. Johns Church Hall, Clareville Road, Caterham, CR3 6LA. Search for Caterham Youth Club in your favourite search engine for more details
