Caterham and Whyteleafe By-Election

By-Election called in Caterham and Whyteleafe

Thank you Jeffrey Gray

After many years working hard for our local community,  Jeffrey Gray has stood down as our District and County Councillor.

Jeffrey has been County Councillor since 2021 and Whyteleafe District Councillor since 2018.

Local campaigner and Parish Councillor Tony Pearce says, “Jeffrey has worked so hard for our community with the local Lib Dem team -  supporting local people and organisations and protecting public services.  We owe him a big thank you!”

A by-election has been called, but no date set yet.

Hardworking local Liberal Democrat Tony Pearce is stepping forward to succeed Jeffrey Gray as Councillor.

A Parish Councillor for Caterham Valley and its current Chair, Tony has deep roots in the community. Married to Lorna and living in Caterham for 30 years, with their son who attends a local secondary school, he’s been involved in everything from PTA fundraisers at Marden Lodge to organising fireworks.
During the pandemic, Tony was a volunteer driver, then led volunteers at a local vaccine centre before working for the NHS. He now works at a well-known local community and well-being centre supporting people of all ages.

“I know our community inside out and I’ll work tirelessly for everyone,” he says.

Known for his energy, dedication, and compassion, Tony is ready to stand up for local people and make their voices heard.
