Meet Martin Redman – Your Local Lib Dem Candidate for Westway

Martin has lived in Caterham since the 1960s, when his family moved here for schools and commuting links. His father helped found the Churches of Caterham Housing Association, sparking Martin’s lifelong interest in affordable housing.

Over his career, Martin built and managed successful businesses in surveying, development consultancy, and housebuilding. He also worked with local schools as a governor, chairing property and audit committees and overseeing major projects. These roles gave him valuable skills in scrutiny, governance, and ensuring value for money.

A familiar face in the community, Martin has supported local trade through the Chamber of Commerce, the Caterham Valley Traders Association, and events such as the Round Table fireworks.

Martin cares deeply about protecting Caterham’s character, supporting local businesses, and ensuring fair, sustainable housing across Tandridge.
